The Challenge
Identify and determine the relationship of each individual in the United States with the KOURAFAS family name and document ancestry research to preserve and educate present and future generations on the family's Greek heritage and unique history.

The Solution
A private genealogy web site that includes research information on the family's Greek heritage and an online discussion forum that encourages family members to keep in touch and share information on each family's descendants and unique journey.

Tasks accomplished

• Designed the look & feel to compliment the family's Greek heritage; featuring the colors of the Greek flag and the Greek Key symbol
• Developed over 15 pages of HTML, CSS and JavaScript code with Notepad and Macromedia Dreamweaver
• Created over 10 graphic elements and optimized over 50 images for the web with Adobe Photoshop
• Customized, implemented and managed a private discussion forum featuring mailing support and over 90 pages of ASP code
• Published non-confidential family descendant information as password-protected PDF files with Adobe Acrobat
• Researched and produced all content:
  • Searched, initiated contact and interviewed family members
  • Researched additional Greek historic information
  • Documented family member details in a secured database
  • Created family tree of 7 generations
  • Authored family biography with photos
  • Expanded personal language skills to speak conversational Greek
